In a recent interview on the radio show 'Chaz & AJ In The Morning,' Bret Michaels, frontman of rock band POISON, addressed rumors surrounding the band’s proposed 40th anniversary tour for their 1986 debut album, 'Look What the Cat Dragged In.' Michaels confirmed that the tour originally planned for 2026 has been postponed to 2027 due to scheduling and logistical reasons.
Michaels responded directly to claims made by POISON drummer Rikki Rockett, who suggested that the tour fell through because Michaels demanded six times the pay of the other band members. Michaels denied these allegations, explaining that negotiations never proceeded to salary discussions. He emphasized that discussions regarding the tour’s details were still ongoing when the dates were pushed back.
Maintaining a friendly tone, Michaels called for open and direct communication among the band members, noting their decades-long relationship. He expressed his commitment to working through any issues privately rather than airing disagreements publicly, asserting that decision-making for the band should involve all four founding members equally.
Rockett had previously stated that financial disagreements prevented the 2026 tour from moving forward, but he also stressed his respect and affection for the bandmates. He acknowledged that while replacing Michaels was a last resort, unresolved financial differences had complicated planning.
POISON last toured in 2022 supporting major acts, and since then Michaels has primarily performed solo shows featuring the band's hits. The potential for a scaled-back or delayed anniversary tour remains, with Michaels optimistic about a reunion in 2027 to celebrate the band’s milestone.
