VENOM INC. Unleashes the Fury: New Mini-Album Mixes Completed

By Jason
Bassist Tony Dolan and guitarist Curran Murphy reveal details about the upcoming release and the band's evolving identity.

In a recent no-holds-barred interview on Laughing Monkey With Shawn Ratches, VENOM INC. frontman Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan and axeman Curran Murphy disclosed that the mixing of their highly anticipated mini-album has officially been wrapped up. This fresh release follows their 2022 effort, "There's Only Black," and promises to deliver a powerful dose of new music for ravenous fans.

Murphy proclaimed, "We finished mixes on the new VENOM INC., the new mini-LP, a couple of weeks ago. We finally got all that locked in. It's getting mastered right now." The decision to release a mini-LP instead of a full-length album was strategic. Dolan explained, "I think we've still got a way to go by the time we do the full album. This is kind of an introduction, if you like. There's a bunch of tracks on there, so it's kind of a mini-album — six or seven tracks."

With a BLACK LABEL SOCIETY tour on the horizon, Dolan emphasized the urgency of getting new material into the hands of fans. "We wanted to continue, so we could put some fresh stuff in the set. A couple of the songs are older classic songs that fans wanted to hear, and we’ve re-edited them to our liking. We’ve also got a tribute song and some exciting new material, establishing our identity as VENOM INC., not just VENOM."

Dolan took the opportunity to clarify the ongoing narrative surrounding the band’s legacy. Addressing criticisms from some purist VENOM fans about the inclusion of classic tracks from the original lineup, he defended their right to perform these songs: "We're playing legacy stuff, but it's legacy stuff I was involved in. If fans want to hear it, and we can deliver it, then I don’t see a problem with that. They know who we are. They know we're not [VENOM]."

He further elaborated, "We could play two hours every night and not touch anything recorded before 1989. But we have new music to create, and we’re ready to embrace that. Nobody's going to dictate what we play; that’s for the fans in front of us to decide. There is a distinction: VENOM exists, and we respect that, but we are VENOM INCORPORATED, and we’re here to make our own mark."

VENOM INC. features the dynamic lineup of Dolan, Murphy, and drummer Marc Jackson, driving forward with a fierce resolve. As they prepare to unleash this new mini-album, the band stands poised on the brink of a new chapter, one that signifies their evolution and commitment to their own identity in the metal realm.
