Following the massive success of their 20th-anniversary celebrations for The Poison, Welsh metal titans Bullet For My Valentine have announced they are revisiting the very foundation of their career. The band has officially confirmed a special reissue of their breakthrough 2005 EP, Hand of Blood.

Originally released as the bridge between their self-titled debut EP and their first full-length album, Hand of Blood is widely regarded as the release that solidified the band's status as the leaders of the mid-2000s British metalcore movement.

The reissue is set to include the original six-track listing, featuring fan favorites like "4 Words (To Choke Upon)," "Curses," and the iconic title track. According to early retail listings, the release will be available in multiple formats, including a striking "Oxblood" colored vinyl—a nod to the EP’s dark aesthetic.

The announcement comes during a period of high activity for the quartet. Frontman Matt Tuck and guitarist Michael "Padge" Paget recently spent the first half of 2025 on a massive world tour alongside Trivium, performing The Poison in its entirety.

In addition to looking back at their legacy, the band is currently looking forward. Tuck and Paget have confirmed they are entering the studio this month to begin tracking their eighth studio album, which they describe as a "super heavy" evolution of the classic Bullet sound.

"The scene was set and foundations were laid by these exploratory early recordings," the band noted in a statement regarding the EP’s history. "It truly solidified our status as frontrunners."

For many North American fans, this reissue is particularly significant; while the EP was a staple in the U.S. via Trustkill Records in 2005, it has remained a difficult find on physical formats and digital streaming services in various territories for years.

Pre-orders for the Hand of Blood reissue are expected to begin immediately through major metal retailers, with a release date slated for later this spring.
