Voivod Announces 2026 Tour Dates, Studio Update, and New Video for "Condemned To The Gallows"

Canadian sci-fi metal pioneers Voivod are kicking off 2026 with a massive wave of news, including upcoming North American and European tour dates, a progress report on their next studio album, and the long-awaited release of a "salvaged" music video.

The band has finally unveiled a music video for the 2023 version of "Condemned To The Gallows," a track originally re-recorded for their 40th-anniversary album, Morgöth Tales. The song holds deep historical significance for the band as it was the first piece of music they ever recorded in a studio, originally appearing on the Metal Massacre V compilation in 1984.

The video, directed by Pierre Ménétrier (who previously worked on "Planet Eaters"), was intended for release years ago but faced a major setback when Ménétrier’s computer crashed, resulting in the loss of most of the data. Over the last two years, the director secretly retrieved and salvaged the remaining footage.

"The result is truly fantastic," says drummer Michel "Away" Langevin. "Pierre retrieved whatever he could... so here it is, enjoy!"
Busy Year Ahead: New Album & Orchestral Live LP

Away also provided an update on the band’s current studio activity, revealing that Voivod is currently juggling multiple major projects:

New Studio Album: The band is officially in the recording phase for their next full-length studio LP.

Orchestral Live Album: Mixing is underway for a live album recorded during their performance with the Orchestre Symphonique De Québec in June 2025.

Video Game: A Voivod-themed video game is currently in development with Chaosmonger Studio.

2026 Tour Dates

Voivod will return to the road this spring for a short run of U.S. dates with Richmond metal-punk trio BAT, followed by an extensive headlining tour across Europe and the UK in the summer featuring Midnight and Cryptosis.
