Thrash metal legends Megadeth have released a new "Behind the Track" video, giving fans an inside look at the creation of their latest single, "Tipping Point."

The song is a standout track from the band’s upcoming studio album—their first to feature the new lineup including guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari and the return of bassist James LoMenzo.
Dave Mustaine on the Inspiration

In the new clip, frontman Dave Mustaine discusses the lyrical themes of the song, which touch upon societal unrest and the moment where tension finally breaks.

"The 'tipping point' is that moment where you can’t go back," Mustaine explains. "Musically, we wanted something that felt like it was constantly building, mirroring that feeling of a world on the edge."
Collaborative Energy

The video also highlights the chemistry within the current lineup. Guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, who joined the band following the departure of Kiko Loureiro, is seen working through the song’s intricate lead sections.

"Teemu is a monster player," Mustaine notes. "He brought a different kind of precision to this track that really elevated the whole arrangement."
On the Road in 2026

The release of the video comes as Megadeth prepares for a massive 2026 touring schedule. The band is set to headline several major festivals and recently announced a co-headlining North American run with Lamb of God, dubbed the "State of the Union Tour."

"Tipping Point" is available now on all major streaming platforms. Fans can watch the full "Behind the Track" video below:
