Virtuoso guitarist Gus G. (Firewind, ex-Ozzy Osbourne) has officially announced his latest solo studio effort, titled Steel Burner, slated for release on June 19, 2026, via AFM Records. The album is being described as a "power metal tour de force," featuring an elite roster of guest vocalists and musicians.

Gus G. has assembled a "who's who" of heavy metal royalty for the project, including:

Doro Pesch (Doro, Warlock)

Matt Barlow (Ashes of Ares, ex-Iced Earth)

Ronnie Romero (Elegant Weapons, ex-Rainbow)

Dino Jelusick (Jelusick, ex-Whitesnake)

In a press release, Gus G. stated that the album was written over the last two years with the specific goal of matching each song to a "voice that defines the genre." He noted that Steel Burner pushes his guitar work into more technical and melodic territories than his previous solo outings. The title track, which reportedly features a duet between Jelusick and Romero, is expected to be released as the first single next month.

The album also features a rhythmic backbone provided by bassist Dennis Ward and drummer Will Hunt. Pre-orders for the record, including limited-edition "Burnt Steel" marbled vinyl, will begin on March 13.
