Swedish progressive metal veterans Evergrey have officially announced Stephen Platt as the newest member of the band, bringing him on board as their latest guitarist. The addition expands Evergrey’s lineup as the group continues working on new music and preparing for future touring activity.

Platt joins the band alongside founding vocalist and guitarist Tom S. Englund, whose distinctive songwriting and emotional vocal style have long defined Evergrey’s sound. The group has built a reputation over the years for blending progressive metal complexity with dark, melodic atmospheres and deeply introspective lyrics.

According to the band, Platt’s musicianship and chemistry with the existing lineup made him a natural fit. His arrival comes at a time when Evergrey are actively moving forward with new creative plans and expanding their live performances.

Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1995, Evergrey have remained a prominent force in progressive metal for nearly three decades. Albums such as In Search of Truth, The Inner Circle, and Escape of the Phoenix helped cement their reputation for emotionally charged songwriting combined with technical musicianship.

With Stephen Platt now officially part of the lineup, Evergrey appear poised to continue evolving while maintaining the melodic heaviness and atmospheric storytelling that have long been hallmarks of their music. Fans can expect to see Platt performing with the band on upcoming shows and future releases as Evergrey enter their next chapter.
