Dee Snider is setting the record straight following a wave of online speculation regarding his health. After Twisted Sister recently announced the cancellation of their 2026 50th-anniversary reunion tour due to his "sudden and unexpected resignation," rumors began to circulate that the 70-year-old frontman was on his deathbed. In a new video addressed to his fans, Snider clarified that while he is dealing with significant physical challenges, he is very much alive and well.

The singer explained that a lifetime of high-energy, "aggressive" performances has finally taken its toll, resulting in degenerative arthritis and recent heart concerns. Snider admitted that he can no longer maintain the "rock 'n' roll fury" that fans expect for a full 90-minute set. He noted that while he could physically stand on stage and "lay back," that style of performing simply isn't in his DNA. Rather than delivering a subpar performance or acting as a "shadow of his former self," he made the difficult decision to step away from the stage.

Despite retiring from the rigors of touring, Snider assured fans that he isn't disappearing from the spotlight. He remains active with his long-running "House of Hair" radio show and shared that he is currently busy directing a movie and working on various writing projects. He expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support from the "SMFs" (Twisted Sister fans) around the world, emphasizing that he is simply entering a new chapter where he prioritizes his long-term health over the physical demands of life on the road.
