MYRKUR Shares “Touch My Love And Die” Recording Session Video
Amalie Bruun, known as Myrkur, has unveiled a short film documenting the recording of her latest single, "Touch My Love And Die," set to be performed on Danish television. The song is an entry for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026, Denmark's national selection for Eurovision.
Blending Nordic mythology, gothic themes, and cinematic soundscapes, the track reflects a fusion of metal, Nordic folk, and film score elements recorded in Dolby Atmos with real musicians, including cello, a girls’ choir, and ancient instruments. Myrkur emphasizes the song’s emotional depth, describing it as a work filled with "heart, soul, blood, and tears."
Throughout her career, Myrkur has created a unique artistic universe, mixing Scandinavian folk music and black metal with cinematic influences, also composing for projects like Netflix's Vikings: Valhalla and The Royal Danish Theatre's Ragnarok. "Touch My Love And Die" continues this trajectory by merging these musical traditions into a powerful ballad intended to evoke human vulnerability amid a digital age.
The recording took place in Winter 2025 with producer Christopher Juul, known for his previous work with Myrkur. The song aims to challenge conventional contest entries by embracing darkness as a source of light, standing as an antidote to artificiality and disposability.
