MUNICIPAL WASTE Gears Up for a Thrash Assault with New Album and South American Tour
In a raw and unfiltered chat with U.K.'s Gear4music, MUNICIPAL WASTE's guitarist Ryan Waste laid down the law about the band's plans for the near future. "We're working on a [new] record, yeah. We pretty much have a record written. So we'll tie that up for a release next year," he stated, igniting the anticipation for long-time fans who have been waiting for the follow-up to their last offering. The quintet will also be storming South America alongside metal legends TESTAMENT and IMMOLATION by the end of the year, a long-overdue pilgrimage to a territory that has been craving their unrelenting thrash. "South America's been overdue. We haven't done that in a long time," Ryan affirmed, hinting at the electrifying energy that will undoubtedly ensue.
In true MUNICIPAL WASTE fashion, Ryan elaborated on their songwriting ethos, showcasing a collaborative spirit that has defined their sound. "All of us contribute. We'll get in a room. Usually someone will bring an idea to the practice room, like one riff to three riffs. I mean, that's a song right there," he explained, emphasizing the organic and raw nature of their creative process. The band shuns the sterile click tracks, opting instead to capture the visceral energy of live jamming, just like they do in rehearsal. "That's how we do it," he asserted, reflecting their commitment to authenticity.
