Benefit concert planned for Jimmy Bower and other NOLA musicians

Up to 10 bands and over 40 musicians will cover two Lynyrd Skynrd songs in a benefit concert to aid Jimmy Bower of Eyehategod/Super Joint Ritual, Suplecs, and Hazard County Girls. These musicians were affected by Hurricane Katrina, which devasted the New Orleans area this last summer.

Up to 10 bands and over 40 musicians will cover two Lynyrd Skynrd songs in a benefit concert to aid Jimmy Bower of Eyehategod/Super Joint Ritual, Suplecs, and Hazard County Girls. These musicians were affected by Hurricane Katrina, which devasted the New Orleans area this last summer.

The concert, which is being billed as Lynyrd Skynrd Katrinathon, takes place on Saturday, April 1 at The Scene in Glendale, CA. Ticket cost is $7.00. All proceeds go Jimmy Bower, Hazard County Girls, and Suplecs.

Each act will perform two Skynard songs with a grand finale featuring the all-star group of Tom 5 (WHITE ZOMBIE, ANGEL ROT), Steve Darrow (HOLLYWOOD ROSE), Steve Priest (THE SWEET), Dale Crover (MELVINS), Derek Christensen (B-MOVIE RATS), Brian Kehew (co-producer of FIONA APPLE's "Extraordinary Machine", THE MOOG COOKBOOK) and more.
