TRIVIUM Teases New Album With Rüdinger: A Bold New Era Awaits
In a recent gut-punch of an interview with Metalshop TV from the Czech Republic, TRIVIUM's bassist Paolo Gregoletto and guitarist Corey Beaulieu laid bare the thrilling news about their upcoming album, tentatively scheduled for release in late 2026 or early 2027. This record marks a significant turning point for the band, as it will be their first full-length featuring the thunderous drumming of Alex Rüdinger, formerly of WHITECHAPEL, who stepped in last October to replace Alex Bent. As Corey articulated, this project has been a long time coming, existing in that nebulous limbo where the release date remains a mystery due to the chaotic nature of the industry and the logistical hurdles they must navigate.
“We’ve been working on it for a while,” Corey explained. “We’re at that point where we can’t really set anything in stone yet. It’s a complicated dance with the label and production timelines, especially with vinyl manufacturing delays. But believe us when we say, the wait will be worth it.” With five years since their last full-length, 2021's “In The Court Of The Dragon,” anticipation is at an all-time high, and fans will not be disappointed.
Paolo hinted at the sonic evolution of TRIVIUM with Rüdinger's integration into the band, calling the new material a blend of familiar elements and exciting surprises. “We’ve put a lot of time and thought into this,” he stated, adding that the chemistry within the band has sparked unexpected creative directions. “It’s still TRIVIUM, but we’ve elevated it in many ways. I can’t give too much away, but what we’ve created in our own studio is something special. There’s a pressure to make it count, and we’re feeling that.”
Addressing the five-year gap, Corey reflected on the previous breakneck pace of their releases. “We were on a tour-album cycle that was almost clockwork. Then the pandemic hit, throwing a wrench in everything. But now, we’ve had the chance to take a step back and really think about what we want to achieve. The excitement is palpable,” he emphasized, hinting at a fresh chapter for the band. “It’s not just ‘the last record part two.’ This is a new adventure for us.”
With the imminent arrival of new music, the band promises to deliver a memorable experience for fans. “We have a lot of exciting plans around the album release,” Corey teased. “People have been waiting for something fresh, and we can’t wait to unveil it. This isn’t just another release; it’s a whole new kind of TRIVIUM.”
The last recording with Bent, a blistering EP titled “Struck Dead,” hit the airwaves last October. As the band continues to evolve, one thing remains clear: TRIVIUM is poised to take the metal world by storm once again.
