Megadeth releases final album with a new take on Metallica's 'Ride The Lightning' and announces extensive 2026 tour dates.

Megadeth, consisting of Dave Mustaine, Teemu Mäntysaari, James LoMenzo, and Dirk Verbeuren, has unveiled their 17th and final studio album. Included as a bonus track is a reworked version of 'Ride The Lightning,' originally co-written by Mustaine alongside Metallica members James Hetfield, Cliff Burton, and Lars Ulrich.

Dave Mustaine explained that including this track was a way to acknowledge the origins of his career. The newly released album is available through Mustaine's Tradecraft label in collaboration with Frontiers Label Group's BLKIIBLK imprint.

In addition to the album launch, Megadeth will embark on a Canadian tour throughout February and March 2026, with support from Anthrax and Exodus. Later that year, they will join Iron Maiden as special guests on the North American leg of the 'Run For Your Lives' World Tour, performing in major cities across the continent.

With a career spanning five decades, Megadeth has sold over 50 million records worldwide and won multiple Grammy Awards. Their extensive influence on heavy metal music remains significant, highlighted by seminal albums like 'Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?' and 'Rust In Peace.'

Beyond music, the band has diversified into ventures such as signature beers and a wine brand. Their legacy continues to impact both the metal community and broader popular culture.
