UADA Announce New Acoustic Album And Unveil Haunting NIRVANA Cover

UADA announces Interwoven acoustic album and shares a cover of Nirvana's "Something In The Way."

Black metal band UADA has announced their upcoming acoustic album, Interwoven, set for release on April 10 through Eisenwald Records. The album offers an acoustic reinterpretation of one song from each phase of their discography, enhanced with covers from artists who have influenced them.

As a preview, UADA released an atmospheric cover of Nirvana's "Something In The Way," accompanied by a video directed and filmed by their creative team. This marks a departure from the band's usual policy against covers, prompted by the involvement of a cellist to add to the track’s somber mood.

Founder Jake Superchi revealed that Interwoven was conceptualized as far back as the band's inception in 2014, envisioning an acoustic and string-driven sound to explore new emotional depths. The album aims to expose a broader range of influences beyond traditional black metal, presenting a blend of familiar and experimental elements.

The project involved spontaneous recording sessions with a focus on ritualistic and primitive sonic textures, including unconventional vocal techniques and an impromptu melodic passage that shaped the album’s direction. The tracklist includes original songs and covers of Rome and Nirvana.

In conjunction with the album release, UADA will co-headline a tour with industrial metal artist Mortiis, performing anniversary sets along with supporting acts Jerome Reuter’s Rome and Wraith Knight. Additionally, UADA will appear at Milwaukee Metal Fest in June, marking their second performance at the event.
