Dragonforce Unleashes Their Eponymous Beast: New Album and Tour Incoming!
Today, DRAGONFORCE heralds the dawn of a new era with the announcement of their tenth studio album, a self-titled beast poised to unleash its fury on March 19, 2027. Produced by the masterful Jens Bogren and recorded across the sonic landscapes of the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Sweden, this album promises to elevate the legendary purveyors of extreme power metal to unprecedented heights. The lineup has evolved, with the fierce Alissa White-Gluz now at the forefront alongside longtime warriors Herman Li, Sam Totman, Gee Anzalone, Alicia Vigil, and the newly recruited Billy Wilkins. Together, they're crafting a relentless sound that builds upon nearly three decades of metal excellence.
In a move that will send shockwaves through the metal community, the first single, "Hunger Of The Beast," launches with an adrenaline-pumping live performance video that captures the unyielding spirit of DRAGONFORCE. This track is tailored to showcase the formidable vocal prowess of White-Gluz and Alessio Garavello, drawing on the youthful fire that defined their earlier classics like "Through The Fire And Flames." The anticipation is palpable as fans prepare for what promises to be a high-octane, hook-laden experience.
Co-founder and lead guitarist Herman Li expresses his disbelief at their enduring legacy, stating, "Every time we begin making another album, we just think, 'Wow — I can't believe we're still doing what we love after all these years.' This album is a piece of art that captures our journey, and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever heard from us or any other metal band." Li reinforces that their mission isn’t to chase commercial success but to create music that resonates deeply with their passion for the craft.
Alissa White-Gluz, who stepped into the role of DRAGONFORCE's first female frontwoman this past spring, echoes this sentiment, proclaiming her excitement about collaborating with such elite musicians. "This new combo of speed and ferocity is refreshing and exciting. It’s going to be so much fun to perform live."
As if the new album isn't enough to set the metal world ablaze, DRAGONFORCE is gearing up for their largest North American tour in over two decades. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking album, "Inhuman Rampage," which birthed the iconic anthem "Through The Fire And Flames," this tour promises to be a monumental event. Joining them on stage will be Alessio Garavello, stepping in for Marc Hudson, who is taking a brief hiatus due to tinnitus issues.
This tour will touch down in 22 cities across November and December, with support from metal titans ENSIFERUM and RHAPSODY OF FIRE. Expect a mind-bending production as they perform "Inhuman Rampage" in its entirety, alongside new material that fans have yet to experience live. DRAGONFORCE continues to rewrite the rules of heavy metal, and with this new chapter, they show no signs of slowing down.
