Chang’e your legend endures the passing of time
Ten suns scorch the earth bringing chaos to our lands
King Yao sent Hou Yi, lord archer, to reason with the sun
As the suns refused to heed, he shot them one by one
As they fell, they turned into three-legged ravens
As the last sun stood, so the last arrow disappeared
As a reward HouYi was granted the elixir of immortality
He didn’t take it for he wanted to stay with his beloved wife
On a hunting trip, his apprentice broke into his home
To prevent this crime, Chang’e herself took the elixir
She flew upwards, past the heavens
And chose the moon, as her residence
To live as near, to her loving husband
He couldn’t bear, with all the guilt
As he displayed, her favorite fruits and cakes
And the proceeded, to take his own life.

Chang’e your love remains still pure and fair
Chang’e goddess of the moon your beauty is astounding
