Shadows that stir in the moonlight
Setting the meadow afire
Motionless eyes through the window
That stare deadly and tired
The trembling fear thats inside us
Shakes like a whispering floor
Locked in a permanent prison
They won’t break down the door
In the shapes of midnight
The fog deceives your eyes
As we wait for daylight
The hope inside will die
Cold is the morning that wakes us
The glacial pace of the sun
Rises with smoke through the black trees
Oh what have they done
Dead is the bird in the cool stream
Floating away to the sea
Rain falling gently upon her
A sight that should never be
In the shapes of midnight
The fog deceives your eyes
As we wait for daylight
The hope inside will die
Kill all the voices that fill all the voids in your head
Down on your knees like a servant who bleeds for the dead
Run through the meadow and look for the gold in the sky
It won’t be long til the shadows that fall on you die
Kill all the demons that feed off the feelings you had
The voice of tomorrow that brings with it sorrow, is sad
Hold off the river of fear that will shiver inside
Remember the future that won’t ever suit you, has died...The Shapes of Midnight
