Of endless sorrow

My Eyes full of rain

Of that haunting glow

Like my old horse

Struggling to stand

In the meanders of the rot

Where I wallow

Light flees from me

I surrender to the darkness

I'm just an old man today

Regretting times past

Drawn to nothingness

No more burning rays

Across vast plains

To lands never won

Keeping away from ranks

In a world long gone

Dreaming of a place

I never could find

The vacant throne of a king

Awaits me on the other side
