Strolling through the cloudy mist
The dim light being of not much help at all
Cannot see the path ahead of me
I'm in a constant danger of drowning in the mire
Taking one careful step at a time
Moving ahead slowly but determined
Trying to ignore the distractions
The sights and sounds calling for my attention
I look forward to the day
When the mist ascends
My way gets illuminated in the increasing light
Making my direction clear
Lost in a merciless desert wasteland
The earth is barren in the scorching heat
No signs of life, nothing seems to move at all
Save for the dust stirred up by my footsteps
Dull colours
The landscape hurts the eye
The air is trembling with the heat
And a sinister wind is howling
I look forward to the day
When the floodgates finally open
Rain pouring on the dry land
Showering it with blessings
The night is in labour
Giving birth to a new dawn
It cannot be stopped
The sun is on its way to rise
