The beacon flickering in a hurricane
Flashing once... and fading again
I am the brick... I lost my way
Drifting to thy lantern... urge in vain
The storm whispers... come and stay
Yet thy clashing waves… bear me away
signs disappear… smoke on the gale
A message is written… shattered and gone astray
Held between heaven and storm
Harsh is the sand … cruel are the waves
Thy voice is the flame in the winters dark
As the gale seeks to choke the flame
Deep in the darkness, I saw thy glow
The shaking ember in winters shroud
I yield my breath, my blood and bones
To shelter life and hold the torch
Shall I choose to turn and stray,
Burn to ashes while thou remainst
I stay bleeding and frail
Will my flaming fire stay?
When the storm abated, the flame could blaze
We’d raise the torch we have lit.
for endless time, I will take the pain,
A willing keeper of the Flame
