Fragmented, unfocused, overwhelmed and underwhelming
Unable to assemble the pieces we’re given
Awareness to our unawareness, all that sets us above animals
All to pass through our conduit of crude cognition
No reality unfiltered
No truth so absolute as this
No perception left unprocessed, truth to be shaped as one would wish
This idea to which we give our trust
Is merely a construct, a gateway to dust
Omniscience would surely suit us ill
Without these thin opaque walls we’d be stripped of our will
The limits of our flesh-bound existence veil us from the madness
the last mercy of this blackness
All we’ve been shown through light and sound
Steals away the promises of what we’ve found
Invoke this ritual of realignment
Dethrone what we know and enthrone what we might imagine
All is tainted in its passage through the great filter
A vast collective built upon ingenuous foundations

Take upon you the weight of the horrors of all
