The Mansions of Night Lyrics

Midnight it must had been

If time in this journey weighted the slightest of merits

And Night with her murkiest breeds

Her cloaks in most macabre darkness wreathed my soul

Last thing I recall, one and in seclusion

In my most hidden caverns between two balancing worlds

Hooded, strengthened in celestial Might

Now, what once appeared as blackened veils on the walls is streaming and seething as this gloomy river that drifted me above the beyond

My eyes bled sacrilege as I hold my past visions

My soul wriggled inertia beholding my haunting truths

And now that oblivion, my wounded enemy lieth defeated

Step by step to the stairway of Netherworlds

Shivering yet supreme I walk with Fire by my side

For the Light that blinds no Immortal

Through whispers and screams I am pledging my shrouds…

Do you remember this place?

Plunge through the deepest pits of your memories within

Not solely from the myths that poured torments to mortals

Then as an infant, your dreamfields you weaved immensely wide free

Then an unfrightened infant, now a forged conqueror

Have you really ever forgotten your home?

It is not just the cave you left in your Dream

Naked you stand in the chasm of the Day and Night twin horizons

Re-enter these Gates, fear not to spread your wings

Re-enter these Wombs, since you dare to re-open your eyes

Look below!

Do you recognize your skin?

For the Light that blinds no Immortal

Children of the sun had left these Mansions of Night

I remember now when your winged chariot fetched me to your chambers above

The mares escalate with their hoofs these starry roads dismal, yet unknown

Then in flinty shrines, in caves invoking your names as once million years ago

Now by this swirling orb flutter directly straight to the Source

You know this place, you’ve been here before

How in this purest form shall I act?

How as the spirit of the waters this stream shall I lead?

Torn are your black velvet tunics, widows

As in your most remote shadows you grieving mourn

Torn is your skin and ageless lineaments

As your blooded nail rips your pestered bodies

Your macabre dance wrings my soul

Through deadly reeks and sultry smokes

For you, winged nightguest, are not of us

Now, look above!

And ask the Hosts this lodge dwell

In the lintel the edge of this dome

The graven marks their future mundane wars

In the threshold the bright blue world your flesh’s grown

Still, standing tall between the schism of the horizons

Still and timeless, the slime still crawling sored

These screams of the dead and the unborn, the nightmares in scorn

And fear not the Lady of the Pit in Her stalagmite Throne

And fear not the One who lined your pathways

Listen through the silver corridors

Is it just the Serpent’s hiss?

Listen carefully as their Lyre tunes not in melancholy for you

Indulge in this siren song for one last time

As the wheel whirls round and round

Upwards and round…

Since no tears withered my pasts

No deaths carved my futures

And for the Amaranthine Breed

To walk further, I’m tempted

Out in the fields of Elysia, rise!

And in these darkened halls in silence I am not sealing my eyes

Behind closed doors dreams are weaved such as this of delight

Out in the fields lies supreme in these Mansions of Night

Out in the fields of Elysia, rise!

And through these darkened halls silenced I am leaving behind

Hundreds of worlds ripped my soul once in vice fates of demise

Out in the fields lies supreme in these Mansions of Night

Out in the fields of Elysia, fly!

Up through these darkened halls My wings were judged sufficient to rise!

Alone no more shall you hover, we welcome thee serpentine child

A thousand young are heading towards these Mansions of Night
