Praise be to God

Jesus Christ as redeemer

and protector of His children

I am overwhelmed

with gratitude

that I do not have to face

trials alone

When despair and tragedy

made its way into my life

my friends and family

even acquaintances

and kind strangers

were there

to help my spirit

and lend their support

In the past

when I have tried to battle

my obstacles alone

I have failed

With the aid of humanity

and the Almighty God

I can not only survive

but thrive in this

ever-changing world
