Fight against
the dying of light.
With burning hearts
we rage.
Full of grief
I bellow and weep,
yet I know these tears
are mine.
Remove this veil off my face,
let me see the path.
With heavy souls,
we raise our heads.
Frail wings of this life,
flying too close to the sun,
left me to fall
into the void.
One more night, we stay awake;
drifting away.
I wait above the ground, unafraid
of the dusk.
Oh, how the clouds call me to join
them in wandering skies;
they hold my hand.
Faint voices from beyond,
singing a chant of demise,
pulling the strings towards the end.
One more night, we hold on;
one more night, we remain.
Floating towards the sun,
so long till we part.
In this bed I wait,
once again, striving.
(I yearn to feel
the touch of wind)
(I am waiting,
I am floating)
Running short of time,
taking back our days.
Burning bridges
to walk this road alone.
Nothing I can say
will change this bleak fate;
yet my aching heart
rages against the light.
I'm floating
into the burning sun,
yearning to feel the light.
Knowing these tears are all mine.
Yet these tears... these tears...
yet these tears are mine.
