V.a.d.i.s. Lyrics

by Need

[Voice 1:]

What are you still doing here?

[Voice 2:]

Dunno, sitting? I'm still sitting. Sitting still is what I'm doing.

[Voice 1:]

I can see that. But no one just sits.

[Voice 2:]

You underestimate the one-dimensionality of people. And I do enjoy the view.

[Voice 1:]

I don't care about the view or people. I do care about you.

[Voice 2:]

Well, in that case I'm sitting and waiting, I guess.

[Voice 1:]

Waiting for what?

[Voice 2:]

The end?

[Voice 1:]

The end is not coming, it's all nonsense.

[Voice 2:]

Is it now?

[Voice 1:]

Well, there was all that talk about the world ending back in 2012, remember? And several times before that...

[Voice 2:]

I sure do, but what if it did?

[Voice 1:]

Did what? End?

[Voice 2:]

Yes.

[Voice 1:]

Well, for starters that would make this conversation post-apocalyptic.

[Voice 2:]

I hate it when you make fun of me.

[Voice 1:]

Apologies. Do go on.

[Voice 2:]

What if the end doesn't last for a moment but for thirty or fifty or two-hundred years and instead of meteor strikes and mountains of fire all we got was gift certificates, discount cards and vouchers. Instead of poison light raining from the skies we're stuck with this ever-growing ocean of plastic and a barren tapestry of empty candy wrappers, used condoms and useless souvenirs.

[Voice 1:]

Who are you?

[Voice 2:]

That's a rather personal question. Who are you?

[Voice 1:]

Well, I have no idea.

[Voice 2:]

Then that makes two of us.

[Voice 1:]

But what do we do?

[Voice 2:]

Let's go hiking.

[Voice 1:]

Nah, I'd rather sit still for once.

[Voice 2:]

Are you turning into me?

[Voice 1:]

You just said you don't know who you are, so we're maybe just both turning into something else.

[Voice 2:]

Like what?

[Voice 1:]

Maybe we're just two blind orchestrions with no sheet music left to play.

[Voice 2:]

I don't read music.

[Voice 1:]

No one should. It's better to flow into it, I think.

[Voice 2:]

But these things take time.

[Voice 1:]

Well, we have all the time in the world.

[Voice 2:]

Will you hold my hand when the end comes?

[Voice 1:]

No, perv. Be a man for once.

[Voice 2:]

A man? Out of all the things to be I think I'd rather be.

[Both voices:]

Human.
