Slow Winds Lyrics

Waning light

Shadows grow longer

Colours melt into grey

Shapes dissolve

Into a haze

Barely visible inbetween

Debris and boulders

A narrow path

Winds its way uphill

Crippled storm-whipped trees

Become sparse and disappear

Looking back

No more signs of life

In the valley below

As if there never was

(Almost) utter silence

Only distant howling

Slow winds

Wisps of clouds

Drift across

The pale disc of the moon

Now and then

The veils part

For an elusive glimpse

At faint stars

Transcending

The nocturnal firmament

Like gleaming pulses

Witnessing and observing

As for eons they have

Looking back

No more signs of life

In the valley below

As if there never was

(Almost) Utter silence

Only distant howling

Slow winds

When will they find out

Where will they search

Where will I be

Will the winds whisper what happened
