Everybody Afterwards Lyrics

I saw an ancient print showin' a sombre

menacing warning in a rot allegory.

There was a carcass in high uniform

who laid obscenely in an uncovered sarcophagus

where's the glory, where's the bright future

of this man born by rarest and brilliant

conjunction of the stars?

now that future so radiant

is all behind his shoulders and just decay

and worms is all that remains

Everybody - afterwards

recited the saying meanin' that everyone knows

everybody - afterwards

it just the same

have been leaders of lonely drunks

Laying on a deep bed already dead

with on the face the seal

of the final, dreadful truth

which marries the man goes out of this world

and equals handsome to whoever live deformed

and the ignorant to conceited

in the quiet kingdom of death

then first dissolution which deforms appear

and it seems like still to die

later the ground seizes us

and penetrating, crumbling us into dust.

Everybody - afterwards

turns, evolves and dispels

in the wind for us will blow,

but the bed on the people dies

grants for a handful of hours

the only real rest after life.

In that time no life goes out from the

deep of a person turned into a thing,

that matter yet starts the shameless lose of pride

collapsin' it renounces

to the effort to remains united.

Nature! you damn puppeteer

that's how you gather up the threads

in time to make us appear or disappear,

you turn round the threads which make

human being move their hands

and twist their mouth and eyes so unerring

when time has come.

puppet whose turns disappear

forever from the scene will be

long this ridiculous farce to end?

I feel I'm acting as figurehead

without words to say,

really I have nothing to say.
