Jupiter Lyrics

Thunderstorms, solar winds, electromagnetic fields

Cyclons, heavy clouds spinning over its surface

Atmospheric bands, whirling storms that never rest

Similar to the Sun due to hydrogen and helium

So bright in the night to steal Venus spotlight

Its mass alone, heavy might, outweighs what stands beside

Two and a half times the mass of the other planets combined

Massive, Stormy, Radiant, Violent

Restless, Magnetic, Chaotic, Majestic

Giant Jupiter

Within its core, the heat, the pressure, perfect for fusion to ignite

It could have almost been a star … But never born

Seven hundred million kilometers far from the Sun

Twelve years to complete its tormentated path

Massive, Stormy, Radiant, Violent

Restless, Magnetic, Chaotic, Majestic

Lava and light, Io blazes through the Jovian night

Volcanic roars ...

In sulfur skies, the embers glow

Beneath the ice, a land where there could have been life

Europa in silence lies...

Frozen scars tear through the sight

Drifting in gloom, oceans where shadows dwell

Callisto, a timeworn shell ...

Wounds on scars, until its doom

Ganymede, hidden wide oceans below

It owns a magnetic field ...

The greatest one, the largest moon

Bright auroras flashing through !

Yet spinning with such a fierce momentum

It owns the shortest day of any world so far

Releasing its primordial energy and heat

Than it ever gathers from the Sun

As its Moons, Jupiter carries a scar

The first space impact ever observed so far

A comet dived into the Giant’s domain

Its fragments fell through at hypersonic strain !

So bright in the night to steal Venus spotlight

The Red Spot, ageless tomb, a gloomy vortex: whirling doom !

Massive, Stormy, Radiant, Violent

Restless, Magnetic, Chaotic, Majestic, Mighty Jupiter
