Heroes, Enemies and Earth Lyrics

Never once belonged in a cornered thief

Or a gambler’s hand

A jealous lover with eyes of revenge

Wicked to waste just nineteen years

A hate laced trigger beckons mothers’ tears

Shouldn’t walk at night on the streets alone

Or even feel safe in ones own home

And take care when eyes on your cash

Do fall when a bullet flies

Can make our children die instead

Like a master plan

Doing all it can

Such a shame got one to defend

Then a young boy finds it and meets his end

Or when its strapped to hate’s side like a southern king

No way to describe the power that it brings

It’s sad

Before the youth skin sheds

Lost his life instead, and once a grip taste steel

Will change the tides from truth to surreal

Anger was never good judgments friend

A future looks down the sights

And so begins the end

The master plan doing all it can

Came running in only to slide out

A firing pin and a ride out

What it takes to be a man inside out

Can’t be worth the trade to find out

To thinking a trigger defines you

Just another maze to wind through

Until the grave or a sentence surprise you

And though we look out for number one

The meaning of life has no gun

It’s giving it back not taking one
