Black roots drain our lifeblood

Brambles rake the vision

From our eyes

Seeping

Toxins

Perforate

See us

Cure us

In desperation

Crying out

Stolen

By the hellspawn

In order

To imprison

We’ll never see the light

Where the spirit hides

Disguised in shadow

It hunts the shade

And seeks shelter in souls undone

As the blooms

Forever make us their slaves

Pluck out our eyes

By ill design,

This world was never home

They sang us

All the way to the grave

So shallow, hallowed sleep

Now in pain

Our life is over

And the death blossoms tall

Sunlight stranger

Burn through nightmares
