I don't care all that much for the Summer The burning heat makes my mind spin A vortex churning deep inside of my head Swirling my soul on towards the dead But I know that others love it so much So who am I to steal away their joy Never had many friends anyway So I hope they enjoy the heat today Beauty comes in many forms Rays of gold and Autumn storms Sunshine bathing all I see And yet I know this beauty is not for me Sublime sunshine I always preferred the Fall and Winter Bundling up against the cold wind The changing leaves upon the old trees Soon to drift and float down all around me I know that other people hate it so much The chill of December descending on their homes They always come out for the gold of the sun But they also come to take away my Autumn And joy comes in many forms But so does torment and scorn The sun shines down all around me But they blind my eyes to the beauty Sublime sunshine Clouds above so soft and white Kissing the blue of the sky Up above where angels soar Out here where the cold winds roar The sun is just out of grasp Fingers strain and grab at last Here where all the ospreys cry Up here where the eagles fly White in the black Cannot turn back Gold in my eyes As my spirit dies Sublime sunshine The Earth below me grey like slate Oceans bubble pain and rage Down where all the devils lie And where all the strangers cry My fingers coiling white and hot I remember every time I've fought The heat burns my mind to ash As I kiss the sun so vast White in my heart Eternity starts Gold in my soul Burning away the cold and coal Sublime sunshine
