Two thousand years of bloodshed
How much more can mankind take
Will there ever be an understanding?
Of the hell we create from the wars we make
Two thousand years
I surround my myself with our history
Books that tell us of how we have failed
Seems that not much has really changed
Since the day, to the cross he was nailed
Two thousand years
Kings come and kings go
Science will rise, but I know
As religion fades away
The quest for power will stay
A warrior at heart yet I wear a scholar’s robe
A professor at C. university
In some small way I hope to change our views
And not repeat the sins of history
Two thousand years of bloodshed
How much more can mankind take
Two thousand years
Kings come and kings go
Science will rise, but I know
As religion fades away
The quest for power will stay
Kings come and kings go
Science will rise, but I know
As religion fades away
The quest for power will stay
