Drowning, we are drowning in our own despair and we pray for the tides to wash our sins away

Why do we beg for absolution when we want no forgiveness?

Is this the means to an end? I will not rely on faith.

I've seen this world's downfall right before my very own eyes and

I've seen this world rust into the disgrace that it is now.

Water cannot distill all of the blood that has soaked into our soil.

Beg for forgiveness, beg for atonement but there will be none.

No scriptures can redeem us, no lord can come cleanse us

We are left in what we've created.

Why do we beg for absolution? When we want no forgiveness.

Is this the means to an end? I count on perseverance.

I've seen this world rust into the disgrace that it is now.

Through the ages mankind has bled for blind faith.

Now nothing will save us from ourselves.

Reality beckons us to open our eyes and see the true world.

Wash us away.
