Here we are under a young sky

As dismal as the former

In the soil this sour

Nothing good shall ever grow

Here I thought a new beginning

Would set me free from sorrow

Knowledge in all its power

Has brought me to my knees to weep

I've been weak and pathetic

And sinking for years

But if I heal and overcome this
