Artificial Salvage Lyrics

Album: Extract

I’m swimming in a sea of fragments

Pieces of something

That used to be special

Someone once touched this

Before handing it over to the fire

It’s been reshaped and compiled

With pieces from another

Prompted to take form

And present itself anew

But it represents nothing

It’ll always be nothing

And those that use it

And those that benefit from it

Have themselves, become nothing

They’ll gain more in life than I

They’ll say it’s time to decide

Whether or not to be left behind

This is the new way

Smile or die

Behind the smile

I see nothing

Imagine a life without life

You’re feeding it every day

Give up more of yourself

And you’ll be as dead as me

Maybe someone will find this

And notice a difference

In a sea of copies and pieces

My fragment may reign true

Those with the least to say

May produce more

But the nothingness that lies behind

Every piece they procure

Will show the void

That used to be their mind.

They’ll put out far more than I can

I’m taking my time

And there’s a high chance

I’ll be forgotten

In the sea of things

In enough time

I’ll be the only one to enjoy

All that I’ve made
