Your manifest starts to change

Why would you bow down to me?

 

Empty words and empty promises

Need to believe in a lie

Giving in is the easy option

Never seeing past the disguise

 

The truth’s right in front of your face

It couldn’t get any clearer

Maybe you’re just as blind as me

Maybe we’ll drown together

 

How could you expect it to change?

When I painted the picture

Scarred for eternity

I’m not who I used to be

 

Take your chance, throw it away

I’ve been stuck here as time escapes me

Waiting to feel the warmth

I can’t fix your heart when my bones are broken

I can’t be your light in this storm

 

Can you feel the burden?

Can you feel it weighing you down?

Your lips soaked in poison

My only embrace in this man-made hell

 

Don’t stay too long

You’ll lose yourself

I won’t be here to guide you out

 

We’re right on the edge

We will fall in time

Pulled beneath the current

Searching the longest of nights

 

I’ve been stuck here as my life escapes me

Waiting to feel the warmth

I can’t fix your heart when my bones are broken

I can’t be the light in your storm

 

Maybe we’re too far gone

Maybe we’ve lost our way

Always struggling to reach the surface

As it begins to fade
