Against every shred of reason
I am inexplicably drawn onwards
Through these shadowlands to the city
At the centre of this labyrinth
Everything feels wrong here
Up is out is down is inside
When and what ignoring how and why
Logic cannot account for anything
Leaden feet keep marching on
I am petrified
But I cannot resist the urge
To keep moving
This seemingly spherical space spiraling around
A black sun that deluminates the air
Casting blinding shadows on the ruined skyline
Comprised of non-Euclidean geometry
High below me I see a nine-sided structure
My instincts tell me this is where I need to go
I become aware of distant swlirling voices
Echoing in unison, these inaudible phrases
I feel an unseen hand pulling me towards whatever might await
Embracing an unknown destiny, I submit to the vagaries of fate
Jumping down into the ziggurat
Breaking free of gravity
Falling upwards to the ground
I’m ascending
