Deaf! Blind! Mute! Numb!

We plug our ears and remain dumb

Cover our eyes and turn away from decency's decay

Ignorant to the blight, no desire to stand and fight

Willingly hiding in the dark from the suffering

The razor’s edge of cowardice abrading the soul

The husk that remains bled dry of mercy

Encrusted with shame, cocooned and calloused



There is no time for justice, no place for peace

No path to equity, nor reason to cease



When kindness is derided as a weakness

Our system of living is perfidious - it poisons us in perpetuity

A hardened heart no longer bleeds, our souls are deadened and scarified

This existence is empty



Obdurate obfuscation of our thoughtlessness

Empathy is carved out and sequestered

Malodorous culture that worships the self

Bleeding into every facet of modernity

Breeding antipathy, excusing iniquity

The many faults of our society

While the duplicity spreads far and wide

The rot is spreading throughout the inside



We care not



This world is enwreathed in bleakness

Its propagation is insidious - the goal is atrocious villainy
