The will to hold the reins

Born from the wish for life

A fever, devouring all we had

Unfit to win the fight

We were our own demise!

“But in this madness what have you gained?

Demolished your home for a jail!

Was this the unavoidable fate

For power in the hands of apes?

Oh, in this madness what have you gained?

The illusionary throne you built

Fallen, scattered ruins and tears

Is this mankind?

Is this the logic beast?”

“Was this the price for the apple you seized?

Was this the wisdom you claimed to seek?

Was this the control you claimed to keep?

Was this your dream?

Silent’s the song of humanity

Nothing more’s beyond!”

“What have you gained?

Nothing more beyond”

“Fallen, scattered ruins, tears!

Perish, foolish beast!”

-Third Act

“Where is the awareness, the wonder for it all?

Where is the beauty, the poetry?

Where is the wisdom you claimed to seek?

What of all this?

What did you find past the boundary?

Was this all enough?

Will you ever learn?”

“Where is the balance between you and the world

The one that made you be born and live?

How could you lose the survival key

Throw it away?

Illusions fade and your towers sink”

“Where is the awareness, that made you win and grow?

Where is the wisdom you claimed to seek?

Where is the control you claimed to keep?

Burnt by your own flames!”

But in the aftermath

Of our darkest night

There is no light of a new sun

Beyond the horizon line

We may build a new path

Or just evolve to dust…
