As I’m gazing into the skies
Surrounded by the stars of the night
My thoughts run me to the zone of twilight
Thinking of everything that’s not in my sight
Glimmering colours of the human race
In eternity, I stand seeing all
Feeling to wander deep beyond the space
A trip across the black hall
Moon lighten my pale white skin
And show my face to this universe
Let me solve this mystery
Before it devours my brain
Is there all you can see?
Is it all you can touch?
Is this all you can sense?
Are these thoughts too much?
Nocturnal mist surrounds me
I’m feeling its cold embrace
It veils the distant stars from me
Making me blind to this world
Better not to think of
Better to leave it be
Let the new dawn come
As it always does
Small piece of this mortal world I am
Small piece on this floating rock
Let the hymns of the skies call me
It keeps my dreams alive
