peace and love to all my beautiful friends who will never meet their little ones for whatever reason

life is a gift and it's one i desperately wish i could give

i love you

poem:

i long to feel your little fingers

wrapped tightly around my own

i long to see your smiling face

gazing back to my beaming eyes

i long to hear your ethereal voice

singing songs that have no words

i long to feel your heartbeat patter

to feel your chest move with every gasp

i sometimes imagine footprints on the floor

indentations from where you rose

and took your very first shaky steps

into my waiting arms

i hear a gentle voice that murmurs nothing

until finally two precious syllables are formed

and in that breath, mine is taken

my heart overflows with joy

tears begin to form in my eyes

as i look upon with pride the life i've created

but it all is just a figment

and i resign to the understanding

that this is not my intended purpose

there's something else i'm here to do

but whatever that something is

i would trade it all in just for you
