On my own distracted self

If we can't stand our ground

Then we shall be ground

I can't keep up

We have to carry on

Burnt by all time

And I am so tired

Ex nihilo

Exposed, reach out

Eviscerate thy self

A beckoning from the great, enveloping cosmic dark

Tiny flecks on a pale blue dot

And yet

The cosmos call

For sacrifice

Humility and arrogance drive a need

Formless void, clay to creation

With our tools we must

Bring to the forefront

The self for display

From dust to dust

My scorn

A cage of my own making

Become the catalyst

With every pulse

Console every fibre

Wreaking havoc

On my own misdeeds

The swarm

Swirling tempest

Break down these walls

Cast fourth these chains

Conform— eternal psyche

Rip-start; and away!

I deny the gloaming

Surmounting day-to-day
