Free from The Light The Preacher stalks about the church A reborn sight A plot to defile grave earth The Cemetery calls! The rite is laid out as thus: Kneel amidst the stones With nails in wrist thrust Crucifixion wounds Brought Eternal Life Inverse and impugn To resurrect the Wights The night is clear The moon is full The time is nigh For the reign of the cruel A hiss from the soil Grows to a deafening roar As if the gate of Hades Was ne’er opened before The Preacher gasps At what his own hand have done At last a mountain moved By the prayer of a faithful one From all around An Eerie glow And slowly coalesce Flames of green and blue The night is Cursed An amen malign’d from the beyond burn the Cemetery Lights! Descending to earth The graves swallow the flames The soil disturbed By the tremors of the slain Limbs burst forth! Crawling from the womb of death Reborn in blasphemy A thirst for holy blood on their lips “Call’d upon the names Which ye knew not! You dared profane The abode of God? Your insolence Knows no height Now feel the wrath Of the Cemetery Lights!”
