Not long ago I've heard this terrifyin' tale

'bout a cap'n of unprecedented cruelty

Johnny wuz his name, by fear an' terror he commanded

until his tired an' angry crew planned mutiny

The cap'n wuz-a caught by this revenge thirsting horde

Some scallywag came out with a cat o'nine tails

There wuz a consultation, his punishment decided

A ramble through the dark cold water under the keel

The ropes were tied tight to his ankles an' his wrists

Down there wuz full o'sharks so hungry for fresh meat

Ya-ha-harrrr laughed the lads loud as hell

The worst evil wishes an' curses they yelled

The cap'n wuz-a struggling underwater for his life

When he tore the rope with its sharklike steely bite

He clung the cord with steady hand an' then began to climb

Sharkbite Johnny wuz returning to life

Dead silence fell on deck then came a curse an'then a pray

The cap'n came on board, he wuz back among his mates

The looking in his eyes would cringe-a Satan himself

Sharkbite Johnny wuz ready for revenge
