Cailleach Bheur Lyrics

In emerald green a shade unseen

Begotten to the material

For now behold

The sender of floods

Divine harridan of a shifting flesh

As a ghost astride the heather

Traversing and travailed

The Queen of Winter in her frigid labours

Maiden of stone steeped in blood of auld

The feeble pains of men are as breath in a storm

Mortals cowering before her mighty works

For hammer and staff hath shaped these unrelenting peaks

The might of the mountains enshrouded by cold mist

They which be unhidden to the will of She

That unforgiving stone aloft

These looming monuments

Forced to shed their bounty by the will of the hammer

Rock and boulder be relieved

Left to tumble to the heaths

To crush the world of men

And piled below

This rubble forms the worlds inferior

The cairn of stones atop

This cold earth calls celestial

The archmother and her works be known

Thrice of frost and bane of life

To the trinity and nine it be

And rent in twain or six

The pieces lain reformed

To throng of loathsome beithir

Striking as lightning

At the apex of frozen summits

Aye of summit and summoner be

Feadag id est

Beclouded and yearning to dispel

The isle of rancor

Like the circle of the stones which frames the

Congregation of the storm hags

They who conjure deathly sleet

Weak flesh be prey for

The belligerence of frost

But belief is time

And age tells severe
