V. The seventh seal The seventh seal was opened and silence was in heaven I saw the seven angels with trumpets before God thunder, lightning the first angel sounded and there followed hail and fire they were cast upon the earth and the third part of the trees and all green grass was burnt up the second angel sounded and as it were a mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea and the third part of the sea became blood and the third part of the cretaures which were in the sea and had life when the second angel sounded died and the third part of the ships were destroyed the third angel sounded and there fell a star from heaven it fell upon the thrid part of the rivers of the earth the name of him is Wormwood and the waters became wormwood many men died of the waters because they were all made bitter and I beheld and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven saying with a voice so loud: "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the trumpets which are yet to sound!" and the fourth angel sounded and smitten was the sun and the third part of the moon and the third part of the stars dayless, nightless and the fifth angel sounded, from heaven I saw a star fall to him was given the key of the bottomless pit he opened the bottomless pit... the sixth angel sounded and the four angels were loosed which were bound in the river Euphrates they were prepared for an hour and a day and a month and a year for to slay the third part of men and I beheld and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven saying with a voice so loud: "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the trumpet´s sound!" but in the days of the seventh angel´s voice as he hath declared to his servants the prophets the mystery of God should be fulfilled when he shall begin to sound
