Opening of the Seals Lyrics

IV. Opening of the seals

and when I saw the lamb opened a seal I heard as a noise of thunder

a rider with a bow on a white horse appeared and a crown was given to him

and he went forth to conquer

and when he´d opened the second seal soon another horse-red-went out there

and power was given to him on the horse to take all the peace from the earth

and there was given a great sword to him

and when the lamb had opened the third seal

on a black horse with a pair of balances he appeared

"a measure of wheat for a penny and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine"

"Fall on us and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne

and from the wrath of the lamb

for the great day of his wrath is to come and who shall be able to stand?"

and then when he had opened the fourth seal I looked and, behold, a pale horse

his name that sat on him was Death and Hell was following him all the way

to kill with sword and with hunger, with death

and when he´d opened the fifth seal I saw the souls of them slain for the word of God

"How long dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them

that dwell on the earth?"

"Rest yet for a little season."

the sixth seal was opened, the sun became black

and, behold, there was a great earthquake

the moon became as blood, every mountain was moved

and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth
