The recent history...
In September 2009, Sekond Skyn hit the road nationally with Cycle of Pain (featuring JD DeServio of Black Label Society) as well as direct support for two time Grammy Award winners Living Colour. This time on the road strengthened the band and gave them the opportunity to tour with artists of great caliber. It enabled Sekond Skyn to learn many valuable lessons from guys that learned their lessons from the likes of the Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, and AC/DC. Unfortunately, the band lost their lead singer following the tour, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Because of the relationships built while on the road, Sekond Skyn was able to perform some shows with Corey Glover of Living Colour, singing lead while the band continued the search for a permanent replacement. A mutual friend introduced the guys to Travis Neal – former lead vocalist for Divine Heresy. Travis comes from San Diego and has had success in the heavy metal realm and saw the opportunity to join Sekond Skyn as a chance to explore a more melodic, mainstream manner in which to express himself vocally and lyrically.
Sekond Skyn are proud to call themselves a “Jersey band”. The “core four” – guitarists Eddie Heedles and Mark Monjoy, bassist George Pond, and drummer Tommy Spano – hail from central New Jersey. The guys grew up playing in bands together in one combination or another and ultimately found this unit to be the strongest. The 2010 addition of Travis has morphed the band into a much more versatile and powerful quintet, enabling them to bring the dirty and heavy as well as the smooth and clean.

From the beginning...
Officially formed in 2005, Sekond Skyn quickly developed a thriving, loyal fan base with their aggressive and dynamic live performances. Their hard work and dedication led them to earn the title of the WRATfest Opening Act Band Search Winner in 2006 and 2007, outshining hundreds of bands 2 years in a row for the prize of opening the Family Values Tour with Korn. The contests, which were hosted by major market radio station 95.9 WRAT, proved to be great accomplishments. It eventually led them to win the hearts and ears of the station's disc jockeys and they were rewarded with a prime-time interview, radio airplay and plenty of exposure.
They have performed with such national acts as Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Godsmack, Taproot, Flyleaf, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Atreyu, Bloodsimple, Evanescence, Hell Yeah, Trivium, Machine Head, Nothing Face, Suicidal Tendencies, Sevendust, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Saliva, Lacuna Coil, Anthrax, Coal Chamber, Five Finger Death Punch, Testament, The Vans Warped Tour and others.

When it came time to release their first full-length album, Let the Fire Burn mastered by Danny Schuler of Biohazard and mixed by Ray Pond, in December 2006, 95.9 WRAT quickly agreed to host the release party. It was a major event which drew more than 400 fans to the famed Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
Sekond Skyn signed a contract with MTV/ Via-Com so that MTV and MTV 2 can use the 2006 Release Let The Fire Burn on episodes of "Cribs, Juvies, My Sweet Sixteen” and others MTV and MTV 2 shows.
In 2008, they released a self titled EP to hold fans over while they continued to write songs for the next full length release. "The Blue Album" was well recieved by long time fans and also gained a new group of Sekond Skyn fanatics. As a result of the EP's success, Sekond Skyn was named the top Hard Rock Act of 2008 by the Asbury Music Association.
The powerful lyrics are executed with an expressive vocal performance. You can find an overwhelming diversity in the music with melody, aggression, anger and even some riffs with progressive blues influences. It's an extraordinarily refreshing sound that is truly unclassified.
Sekond Skyn’s Addicted to Chaos was released in March of 2009. The album was co-produced, mixed, and mastered by Grammy Award winner Ed Reed (Type O Negative, Life of Agony, Naughty by Nature). Sekond Skyn embarked on a tour of the east coast in late February beginning in Allentown, Pa. and headed down to West Palm Beach, Florida to support the album. Addicted to Chaos entered FMQB at #6 most added with 28 adds and CMJ #6 most added with 53 adds in March and has climbed both charts consistently through the remainder of 2009. For the second year in a row, the band was awarded the Top Hard Rock Act by the Asbury Music Association. In March of 2010, the band signed a deal with Dirtbag Music Group and are currently writing and recording for their DMG debut.
