Hailing from "la belle France", Wormfood is a shifted and eclectic band, performing a grim, unforeseeable, declining and immersive music. The band takes a malicious pleasure to disconcert the listener, using provocative topics, advanced classical arrangements, cinematic atmospheres, with a squeaking humour... The vocal register, in french and english, follows this tendency, alternating in a theatrical way between death, black, gothic, punk or french variety... an ironical and serious reflexion on the metal genre itself. Their shocking new album is scheduled for autumn 2005 on the italian label Code666.

Wormfood is founded in January 2001 in Rouen (France), by Emmanuel "El Worm" (vocals, guitar) and Romain (bass), after the splits of their black metal bands Outward Ceremony and Alien Christ. Wormfood records thus its first demo in May 2001. After this cd, the drummer Alexis Damien joins the line-up.

This collaboration leads to a new self-produced album, recorded in July 2002, under more professional conditions. This cd is selled to several hundreds copies, in February 2003. The reviews in the press (Hard Rock, Kickass) and on the web (Obsküre, Doom-Metal.com, Violent Solutions...) are extremely positive. Meanwhile, Wormfood is joined by the keyboardist Tim Zecevic. The band gives then its first gig in Rouen, with Luen-Ta, in June 2003. The psychotic visual of the band doesn't leave the public indifferent.

A few months later, the members of Wormfood begin the composition of a new album, which they want to be much more assumed and better produced... The recording lasts all along summer 2004, and following a lucky meeting, ends at the Walnut Groove Studio (Amiens), with Axel Wursthorn (from Carnival in Coal) who implies at 100% in the process. Enjoying to work together, Carnival in Coal and Wormfood keep narrowly in touch, considering the possibility of common musical projects in a next future. Wormfood's new album, entitled "Jeux d'Enfants", in cynical reference to the infamous track "Vieux Pédophile", who inspired the artwork, is released in December 2004. The band, whose line-up is now complete with the coming of the guitarist Frédéric Patte-Brasseur (Ataraxie, Funeralium), starts to perform on stage for good... The gig organized in Rouen to celebrate the release of "Jeux d'Enfants" -with The Outburst and C-Rom- packs the house, and the band begins to book tour dates for the year 2005 (with Horresco Referens, Warkult, Keen, Yuck…).

Finally, Wormfood inks a deal with the italian label Code666 (Konkhra, Aborym, Void of Silence, …), for a totally remixed release of "Jeux d'Enfants", including a few extra tracks and a new artwork designed by Sect Metastazis (Anathema, Carnival in Coal, Anorexia Nervosa, Crack of Dawn...).
