Nikki Sixx Comments On Writing The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack
In an exclusive interview with The Gauntlet, Nikki Sixx commented on the upcoming soundtrack to his book The Heroin Diaries.
"The music was really inspired by the book. In James' [Michaels] words, he wanted to create a rock opera." stated Nikki Sixx. "You can listen to it and see the book. You can listen to it and go on the journey. Scoring the music was the most freeing musical experience I have had in years. It was effortless. The album wrote itself. For us, we created the beginning, the middle and the end which was 'X-mas in Hell,' 'Intermission' and 'Life After Death.' We had a double album of music and then it was a matter of honing it in for the soundtrack to get a good clear picture. We wanted to get a cohesive picture lyrically, melodically and conceptually. I feel we achieved it."
'The Heroin Diaries' soundtrack will be released on August 21 on Eleven Seven Music. Click here to listen to two tracks from the album. The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rockstar book will be released September 18.
